Yeah, I didn’t realize it until late this past week that I had gotten so wrapped up in playing pokemon that I forgot to update last Sunday. Not good for someone who is currently trying to lure in new readers. /sad So here is the update you’ve been waiting for!? The tournament is finally getting underway.

I’ll be updating the character page at some point during the day and you might even see new buttons on the right hand menu (which I’ve been meaning to do but lacked the motivation). Hope you enjoy.

The Nine Dragons, the pantheon of this world and their advisers all belong to SD. He came up with them, I just helped flesh them out a bit.

The perky and friendly announcer. He’s such a great character and we always have fun writing him.

And on another note, I’m actually giving some advertising a shot. So hello if you came through my one and only (for now) ad. I’m a little nervous about the whole idea, but I think it would be fun to have people other than just immediate friends read this story. Plus Project Wonderful makes it pretty easy and most of the webcomics I read use it, so I know it works.

Hey, it’s Josh! Josh is adopted character of SD’s. When we were starting TCIS, we had posted our character profiles, but the guy who created Josh got into a fight with the leader of the boards, so the guy dropped out of the IS before it really started, but gave his character to SD.

Josh survived quite well…figuratively, not literally? In that he stuck with us through that IS and now into the Ring of Dreams story.

Arrival at Dragon Village and a brief look at the surroundings. Things will really pick up from here.

So there you have it. While this is not all of the main characters, the groundwork for the story has now been laid after this first chapter. Dirk thinks there are nasty people in the tournament who may be after the amazing wish granting ring in order to cause some major trouble. Will our heroes be able to stop them? Who knows? I haven’t finished writing the story yet. Anything can still happen.

Also I’ve added a little FAQ link to the side bar which I will use for…well FAQs. Innovative, I know.

Ooo, a tournament! SD and I knew we wanted to do something with our characters after the ISs of old, but we had no idea what. Then one day we just had the random idea of having a tournament, and the rest is history.

Yeah, it was my first Sunday free in a long while, and I ended up forgetting everything else to work on Valkyrie Profile 2. I’ve never had to prep for three days in order to beat a boss before.

Anyway, for all of the weird things in <between>… basically those are names that were used in the IS that is most of these character’s back story. We wanted to keep those names away from this story and it’s really not important to know them anyway. I figure if Jane Austin can do it, so can I.

Monday night update, this weekend sucked. Went to pick strawberries and the farm was closed. Then a cover fell lose under the car and started dragging so I had to wait for my dad to come rescue me. Bad bad bad. But I’m back home where I belong. With my computer and actual internet access.

Anyway, story.

Kind of a short one, but the stuff that comes later gets longer. This just seemed like a fine break to have it not be really long right to start.
