So yeah, the 10% buff hit. So it didn’t take nearly as long as it could’ve to beat this boss. And in fact, as soon as we switched to the 9/5/5 bounce strat, we pretty much had it. Healers are awesome btw. I dunno how they do it.

Of course we beat it in true OOB style. OHGODICEBLOCKICEBLOCK!!!

I think we downed this fight the second week. We would’ve had it the first week but we kept having instances of the lightning not jumping when it should have. But really, it was simple. I don’t think we’ll have trouble downing it next week as long as we get past Yor.

At least the quotes are better this time.

So despite the fact that this fight is entirely rng based, which is something I dislike, I actually enjoyed this fight. To this date, I believe (knock on wood) that we never got a red-black-yellow (double adds) followed by the same. That would have simply sucked.
Besides that there’s no a ton to say about this fight. So, screenshot:

Very clever there Blizz, on the naming of your baddies. I guess. I dunno, this fight didn’t feel all that heroic. However it’s one of those fights that when one person screws up and dies, it wipes the raid. Those types of fights are a challenge for 25-man guilds. RIH Archimonde.

Even though I swore it already happened. I mean they named the stupid expansion after it. But no, I guess Deathwing didn’t bother to get it right the first time. This time there was a whole lot of black…/cough…I mean I have no idea what happens if Deathwing gets off that cast because we certainly never let it happen. Ever. >.> Don’t judge me.

Anyway, normal mode was easy, as is it’s wont. There was stompy man, and tennis man, and ooze man, and “put me to sleep” man, and airship man, and Deathwing’s back, and then Deathwing. Nothing all that clever, but except for “put me to sleep man” none of the fights were absolutely horrible.

Anyway, two screenshots. One of my rad achievement and all of the quotes that I had saved up. And the second our actual killshot. Next week we start heroic mode. I hear it’s hard. Like bleeding from your eyes hard. I can’t wait.

I know a lot of you long time readers are wondering where the heck the wonderful me went? That doesn’t matter, what does matter is that I’m back just in time to find out that I ‘wimpied’ my way out of a guaranteed legendary. Ah, such is life. ANYWAY!

I love this fight. I guess it’s the new mechanic, or maybe the awesome model, or maybe I just appreciate the RP of the poor little whelpling. The fight itself is kind of fun if not annoying. We did end up working on it for a week’s raids before getting it down.

I’ve always wanted to server spam. Like always, and I finally got to. 😀

So our trip down Lich King Heroic started long long ago, in a galaxy where Halion did not exist. Then we took like three months off and downed the stupid pink dragon. Yeah Koi, that was fun. >.> BUT THEN we came back to the Lich King and promptly began having attendance issues. YAY! Many nights we had anywhere from 20 to 24 people in the raid. It was frustrating, but the reason we’ve stayed together as a guild for over three…four…? however many years now is because Koi is the most stubborn person in the world. (Case in point, this version of word press hasn’t been updated since we got this website…)

In a last ditch attempt to down Lich King before Cataclysm, we appointed Levo…iknorite? as recruiting officer. Lo and behold he worked some sort of magic and we managed to pull in three new initiates which pulled us up to the standard 25 man raid. We went into raiding that night and not only got to p3 for the first time, but got the boss to 22% with two minutes left on the enrage timer before we just ran out of living people.

And then you can guess what happened. We had a record number of people on Friday night. We stumbled around the boss for a few attempts, and then in the one attempt where some really crazy stuff happened, we managed to turn it into a kill. Many that kill vid that I get around to doing in December after NaNoWriMo is over is going to be great!

Edit: So we of course celebrated as soon as we all died, but Koi in his insight and wisdom was like “omg gais, wut if the server crashes?” And we all laughed, and we got our achievements, and I passed out all the loot, and Koi was about to call rolls on Invincible when…the server actually crashed. We came back in to a soft reset instance with valk’yr and no Lich King body with Invincible still on it. qq

So we rolled and got double 100s, out of which Azshane, our resident shirly aussie came out on top. And she got to hope that our tickets to the GMs would prove fruitful in receiving Invincible. Oddly enough, I got a response by the next day. iknorite? Asking who everything was going to go to, and I went into ZG thinking it would take a while for a GM to get back to me. Nope. He popped in while I was killing the tiger boss and said Invincible was in the mailbox for Azzy and I got the two worthless tokens for the 10 they are worth. He also clarified the problem with the servers.

And Azzy finally got out of her own ZG run to come show us the much improved Invincible model.

It really feels like it’s been forever since I last put up a killshot. Glory of the Icecrown Raider, which wasn’t a killshot in July, and then missing the Putricide kill, the last thing I posted was Sindy back in May. MAY!

We had been working on Heroic LK for a while when Ruby Sanctum came out, and Koi made the decision to down Heroic Halion before we continued our work on LK. The normal version of the fight is really rather easy. I think we got that down our second pull? Then we started in on heroic, and you’d swear we suddenly asked the raid to cure cancer or something with all the stupid deaths and failure.

And yet it certainly wasn’t wipes to being undergeared, and it wasn’t wipes to a difficult to understand strat. They were just wipes to stupid stuff. And in the past month we’ve had three or four attempts that SHOULD have been kills, interrupted by that stupid enrage timer. And then this most recent Thursday night we got him down to 88k health on our last attempt of the night. 88k! But despite the fact that we still had people up and had not hit the enrage timer, we lost all the people in the shadow realm and he started healing…

So what did we do?

a) Emo disband the guild and then pull it back together.

b) Transfer off server to do the same old stuff in a new place.

c) Faction change to horde so we could stare at pretty blood elves.

d) None of the above.

Of course the answer is ‘d’ you silly people. Instead we went to ICC and got more gear! Actually, we only did that because Ari got drunk on Fourth of July weekend and one of his underlings totally screwed something up at work and his boss was making him work all Friday to fix it. So after we got new shinies, we came back on Saturday and got it on our third pull.

It was actually a rather sub-par pull as well. One of our healers disconnected, the wonderful me got stuck in a bad situation and actually DIED. I dunno how we actually pulled it off. I guess we’ll see when I get the video up.

The last! (ignoring putricide) hurdle before we get our very own Lich King Heroic to play with is finally down. It was like…cold and stuff. And a little boring in some places.
